Bbc f1 where is jake humphrey
The technical directive issued by Formula 1 to reduce levels of automation in pitstops has given teams an unwelcome period of adjustment. Although safety was the primary goal, it has already had a significant impact on the title race and puts extra pressure on teams to deliver as the season reaches the business end.
Some 18 drivers have finished runner-up to Lewis Hamilton on his way to wins. The Russian GP was decided by late-arriving rain that allowed some to climb and caused others to plummet. But the events which played out beforehand are equally significant when considering the all-important driver ratings. Until rain turned the Russian Grand Prix on its head in the closing stages, Lando Norris was set to convert his first Formula 1 pole position into a maiden win.
But having recovered well from being shuffled back at the start, Hamilton and his Mercedes team called the changing conditions spot-on for a landmark th F1 victory. At the Italian Grand Prix Daniel Ricciardo turned around a troubled F1 season and, in F2, Oscar Piastri demonstrated once again that he is a potential star of the future.

I don't watch football so all the best for the future Jake. Jake and the team. You beat the dribble that Sky pour out and the 3 of you had some fantastic banter. The most memorable moment for me was when the 3 of you interviewed Jenson at the end of his Brazil victory. Jenson looked directly into your eyes and kissed you.
You have a friend for life there. All the best for your future, if ever you come to comment on Accrington Stanley, let me know! Change is good, the current team is better than the last, and the next team will be better still.
Simply thanks Jake. Thanks for entertaining and educating us and making Sunday afternoons that bit more special. Good luck for the future. Awesome blog as usual Jake.
You have helped make the last 4 years so much fun, some of the moments with you, EJ and DC have been so much fun. You have brought us closer to the sport and i thankyou for that. Good luck and enjoy being a dad. I was also a none believer, Jake. That said, the extended highlights have been excellent and iPlayer has changed how I watch completely. If you look at it as a whole, DC, Eddie and yourself have done an amazing job and made it all the more enjoyable, whilst clearly building a wonderful rapport with key figures in the paddock.
So thank you greatly for your contribution, but let it be said, nothing is quite like working for the beeb, and your lucky not to be completely cutting all your connections.
Parenthood looming, I wish you well, and can you pull some strings and get Liverpool matches shown earlier on MOTD, now you're a football man! Good luck with everything Jake! It was a pleasure to watch you, DC and EJ!! Best F1 coverage in the world!!!!!!!! Well done Jake you have been fantastic over the last 4 years and perhaps the best presenter of the sport ever.
Everything about this F1 coverage has been about engaging the audience. The weekend started with Jake educating Aled about the F1 world and ended with the F1 forum. Unbelievable to compare this with its immediate predecessor and the level of access. It seems right to see F1 continue to evolve but a shame the dream team will be no longer together and best luck to you Jake on your many new adventures! Jacob, you made F1 become apart of my life. I plan to become apart of one of those teams in the next few years - watch this space, your replacement could be interviewing me.
As much as people say I'm mad for getting up at dawn on Saturdays and Sundays, it's all worth it getting to see the sport of f1. Hearing the raw of the chain, while sitting in the dark wrapped in my duvet, and the guy who says "Round 1 Australia", then seeing you, EJ and DC in some awesome vt, it's all part of the fun. You will be missed in the paddock because of you expert skills when presenting, but I look forward to you presenting the arsenal games next season.
And perhaps making the odd appearance at Grand Prix weekends - you can't keep away forever. So Mr Humphrey, you'll be missed when the Canadian Grand Prix goes on for 4 hours 4 miniutes, but I can't say I don't look forward to the season - it gets better all the time. It's not goodbye, more like see you later and you could always follow me on twitter jackwilliamking I follow you, and you have left f1. Good luck mr Jake Humphrey. Thank you Jake for providing us with all the brilliant memories on track and off it.
You along with EJ and DC must be so proud in revolutionising the presentation of a sport that has so many angles and unbelievably I think you covered almost all of them. The rappore between you DC and EJ was incredibly real and it really did look like you were having the greatest time in the world.
Good luck with your new presenting duties and most importantly best wishes to you, your wife and your new family. A little comment copied from your blog to sum up parenthood Thanks for some great memories and good luck with the new job.
Good times, your quote of "don't be sad it's over, just be glad it happened" has hit a cord. Well Jake on the last 4 years. Look after your nest and your new little Canary.
I will say hi should I'm fortunate enough to bump in to you. Well done Jake - you will be sorely missed. However times move on, so how about this for a replacement. Move DC into your role and if the unthinkable happens, sign up Heikki Kovalainen to make up the trio. DC brilliant. Heikki good command of English and very popular with the teams and a great knowledge of current F1 cars! Just a sugegstion. Good luck Jake. You are also a credit to the BBC and you will be very much missed. Good luck with the football and also becoming a proud dad.
As an old and wizened F1 fan from way back in the early 60's I can assure you it wasn't anything to do with your blogging or twitter account.
It was the ease of delivery. The slick dovetailing of set pieces. And the fact that you came across as simply a nice bloke who loves F1 as much as the rest of us. Thanks Jake. It's been a real pleasure. Good luck in the next chapter of your career. Eddie will still try to get you to do some ghost writing for him.
Im sad to hear you are leaving Jake. When it was announced the BBC would take the rights in , I dont think i even muttered your name as Presenter, I thought Steve Rider would move with it and to be honest when you was announced I was suprised but I thought it was a good move, I though ' Ive seen him before, he'll be a good choice' and you was, I felt all those idiots on the blogs berating you saying you was a astupid choice was ridculous and how you proved them all wrong, you are a F1 Fan like the rest of us, professional, calm, collective and keeping DC and EJ in check every weekend.
I sadly decided to shun the BBC's coverage this year for Sky Sports and Sky had it all except one thing - A decent Presenter, I was not really pleased with Simon Lazenby and I actually wondered if Sky Sports did actually tempt you to jump, I think I read you stayed at the BBC to do the Olympics which you couldnt be faulted for, you was great in that as you were in F1. Reading your reason why you are leaving, cant be blamed, Harriet needs you and you need Harriet and BT are very serious about Football and picked a decent presenter who loves the Sports he has covered.
I've really enjoyed Formula 1 on the BBC for the last 4 years, thanks mainly to your presentation and the way that you EJ and DC jelled together which made for superb viewing, especially the Forum - Thanks and best wishes for the future, I'm sure you will make a great success of that.
Congratulations to you and Harriet on the forthcoming arrival! Jake, all the best with the new job but much more importantly the new arrival. Being at home at this time is the best thing you will do. I think the three amigos worked a treat together and that is what made BBC F1 the best on the box.
Oh dear tears are starting to well up, good luck with the baby. I will miss you and the great rapport you have with EJ and DC. I too remember when Button won, another tearful moment. Luckily we have BT Vision so we will still see you, can't you take the other two musketeers with you, it would be a laugh seeing EJ running on to the pitch to grab the goal scorer!
I commented on your first blog to wish you good luck, so I'll comment on your last to say well done. Top job, you've raised the bar.
Jake, first time I've responded to any blog ever, no thank you for the last four years it has been our pleasure, whoever follows you has massive shoes to fill. All the best. J, David and yourself have made it even more fun, technical and at times emotional.
It always felt like we all had front row seat every wknd and feel sorry for your replacement as you have left big boots to fill. Good luck and all the best for when your little angel arrives. The last few years of F1 have been fabulous.
That is as much due to the BBC's superb coverage as anything else. Jake, you have always struck me as an excellent presenter. A true professional. Thanks so much for your efforts and the best of luck in your new job. You will be missed in F1. My children are 5 and 3 and are big fans, they always say hello to Jakey Wakey Woo Woo - they have always called you that! We knew about the baby so they understood your reasoning and they did say goodbye and tell you that they won't see you again as we don't have your new channel.
But just in case the magic of tv hasn't worked and you didn't hear them ;- Goodbye, Good luck and Thank you from 2 very small viewers x. Thanks Jake, great job! You really brought something special to F1, and you will be missed. Best of luck for the future and your new endeavours. I was reading your blog and for some reason your reasons for moving on weren't ringing true, until I got to the end. That is the only reason you need and respect to you for leaving a gig you clearly love to take being a dad seriously, you will never regret it trust me!!
I wish I had approached you in the Starbucks in Austin and said thank you for the great show that you and the team put together. I've watched formula one for many years and I can't remember ever enjoying the pre and post race show as much as the race itself. As for your departure, the show will be poorer for it! Good luck in your new endeavours. Thank you so much for the past 4 years Jake.
Excellent job, thanks for everything - you've set a high benchmark. All the best Jake it's been a great 4 years watching DC, EN and yours truly educate the viewing public about the finer side of F1 and entertaining us all with the banter and shirts of many colours. Good luck on BT vision recommended viewing and especially to you and Harriet on your upcoming family addition. I now fear for the BBC coverage. When you watch people interviewed by yourself, EJ, DC or Lee, compared to the opposition you feel the warmth towards you guys from everyone.
In the world the rest F1 live in you never got drawn in, star struck, overwhelmed or big headed. Sunderland instead of Singapore? Thank you for much for a great 4 years Jake. You have done an amazing job.
We are all very sad to see you go. Your successor has some very big shoes to fill! We will miss you! Come back soon! This entry is now closed for comments.

Page 1 of 5. I grew up watching you on CBBC! Oh, time flies. Best of luck Jake. No Jake, thank you. It has been brilliant. You will be missed Jake. The BBC do and always will do it better than anyone else. Thanks Jake, I feel like I know you best of luck see you at Silverstone1.
Thanks for the memories, Jake. Wishing you all the luck and happiness for the future. Best of luck with the footy - BBC F1 won't be the same without you!
You are good man Jake. Great blog. All the best for the future. Jake began his broadcasting career as a runner for Norwich-based Rapture TV. He went on to become a researcher and ended up presenting by accident. He was advised to make a showreel and this eventually led to him hosting a live, daily, sports show for TWI.
From here, he joined CBBC and enjoyed six extremely successful years, presenting live links and a number of popular shows.
Jake's interests include writing, reading autobiographies and travelling. He also loves cars and supports his much beloved Norwich City.
